Yes you can stay at a GODZILLA themed hotel in Tokyo! For real! Hotel Gracery Shinjuku aka Godzilla Hotel is all about celebrating the worldwide pop culture icon and monster. The hotel, located in the heart of Kabukicho, is super easy to find as you can spot the huge Godzilla statue peeking out over the hotel, from far away. It’s exciting! I mean, Japan without its teenage fantasies, isn’t Japan!
Hotel Gracery is located in Kabukicho known as the entertainment district, often referred to as the “sleepless town”. It’s a very lively and crowded area with loads of bars, restaurants, clubs. It’s fun for the eyes, especially at night with all the flashing neon lights and the intense population.
The Hotel has 30 floors. It is impressive! At the entrance you get 4 giant elevators to take you to the lobby. And upon entering the lobby i immediately noticed the walls covered with Godzilla posters, creating a unique atmosphere.
The best part of course: the gigantic Godzilla statue, on the outdoor terrace. It’s really something even if you are not into the monster. Every hour it comes alive…kind of 🙂 You can hear it roar, spit smoke, and watch its eyes light up. The show is even more impressive at night.
If you are lucky to be in the “godzilla room”, through the window you can see its cute face… (yep i find it cute hehe)
The Rooms are quite small but very comfy. Once you are used to japanese rooms, you don’t expect bigger than this. And you get all the amenities you need from a 4 stars hotel.
What struck me was the incredible view of Tokyo from the room. You are pretty high in the sky, it’s magical. I could spend hours looking at the city’s skyscrapers.
Breakfast is another good point at the hotel. You can choose 2 different types of breakfast located in 2 different areas. One, and my favorite, is at the lobby bar. I love it for the scenery. I mean isn’t it special to have breakfast with Godzilla in front of you? 🙂
The second one, is in the restaurant, which is located at the entrance of the hotel, on the ground floor. You get more various food but not the view.
Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is one of the best hotels i have visited while in Tokyo. The location, the atmosphere, the service were impeccable. I would highly recommend to stay at Hotel Gracery.
