I spent a week in Lisbon, a very interesting city, which is getting a lot of buzz recently! If we talk quality of life, i must say that Lisbon offers a great deal of possibilities: it has probably the best climate in Europe with 10 months of good weather. Indeed it’s November and i’m wearing a tshirt, sipping coffee on a sunny terrace. 😀 Lisbon also has a very low cost of living…i mean, 1,50€ for a coffee + croissant! IN THE CENTER!!! And last but not least people are extremely nice here! I do understand the hype! On the other hand people say work is rare and doesn’t pay well. I guess there is no perfect place. Personally i ❤ Lisbon.
I was invited for 2 nights at the Hotel Lisboa Plaza. It’s located on the most prestigious avenue of Lisbon, Avenida da Liberdade. Locals call it “Lisbon’s Avenue des Champs-Elysees“.
Hotel Lisboa Plaza is part of the Lisbon Heritage hotels, promoting charming hotels that reflect Portugal’s tradition and culture. As soon as you enter the lobby, you can feel the long history of the Hotel. Deeply rooted in the past, it is a 18th Century Townhouse, decorated by Portuguese architect, Miguel Cancio Martins. It is beautifully arranged, with several colorful salons, each one with a special vibe. This hotel is almost like a little museum.
The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated. They kept its traditional style on purpose and it gives the rooms a very charming aesthetic. I loved the ancient details like the old phone or light switch.
I get to visit a lot of modern hotels and sometimes it’s missing something, a personal touch, “un cachet” as we say in french. I truly recommend Hotel Lisboa Plaza, for its decor and intimate atmosphere, especially in a city like Lisbon, full of History.
A huge thanks to the Hotel’s lovely team for having me ❤ 😉
