I have been to Belgium in the past but this was my very first time in Brussels, a gorgeous city mixing modernity and history with a super laid-back atmosphere. I was very excited to visit. And what’s the best excuse to travel? A gig with my band Free Free Dom Dom.
For the occasion, i was invited by Hôtel Métropole Brussels, a 5 stars luxury hotel, located in the heart of the city, on the place de Brouckère. Definitely as exquisite in real life as it is online, this former “Caisse d’Epargne” headquarters, was turned into a hotel by the Wielemans brothers at the end of the 19th century. It was the French architect Alban Chambon, already responsible for the decoration of the Café Métropole, who was appointed by the owners to carry out the interior design of the hotel. The decoration is stunning! Just picture yourself living at in an Art Nouveau palace, with the most up-to-date facilities: lifts, electricity, central heating, not to mention the richness of the decor and high quality service !
The old style elevator took me to my privilege room, located on the 5th floor. The elevator is an attraction in itself, a piece of art. “un voyage dans le temps”. 🙂
It is the end of 19th century in the room as well: Spacious, comfortable and decorated with the best quality furniture…and a royal double bed! Just one look and i knew i was gonna sleep like a charm. But first things first: i was craving for a bubbly bath to relax before going out to explore the city. Brussels’s night life is rich and fun and Bruxellois are super friendly. It almost feels like a little Paris, less the cocky attitude.
I woke up with stars in my eyes, in my imperial bed, so comfy and perfect for pictures. Chilling a bit but not too long because one fact about me: i am a breakfast person! At the top of a somptuous staircase, breakfast is served and is what you expect from a five stars hotel. An amazing selection of sweet and salty meals: various egg styles, bacon, crispy potatoes, juices, croissants, even make-your-own waffles, Delicious!!! The personnel is very friendly and efficient as well. Yes, you can be both! If you doubt it, plan a trip to Brussels.
Hotel Metropole is a magical establishment! If, like me, you are into creating your own lifestyle and wanting to experience interesting new things, I highly recommend you give Brussels and Metropole hotel a try.
A huge thanks to the hotel’s team for having me ❤
