I have visited many hotels around the world and only a few are Gems to me. Well, The Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue is definitely one! The Hotel is situated in the very cute city of Traben Trarbach, on the Moselle River, surrounded by a beautiful wine-growing landscape.
Upon arrival, you are overwhelmed by the suspended time atmosphere that reigns here. The Jugendstil Hotel is not just a hotel, it is a legacy. And What makes it so special is its soul. The owner’s passion is very well alive, and his team is not betraying him. They transmit the passion of fine service & history right away. The Jugendstil Hotel Bellevue has a long history. Built in early 1900s, by famous art nouveau architect Bruno Möhring, the house became the number one address on the Moselle. The fine spirit is still there !
I was welcomed and treated like a queen. Immediately, I was offered a fabulous tour of the hotel by the manager. He told me the many stories of the hotel, showing me every corner, every art piece and the many buildings that are annexed to the original house. The hotel is huge and keeps growing. It spreads in the lively city of traben: a little paradise on the moselle river.
My room was located in the yellow aisle: a somptuous suite with stunning view on the river. Lucky me, the sun was shinning all along. Before dinner i enjoyed a relaxing moment at the spacious beauty and spa area. Swimming Pool, sauna, sanarium, hammam, beautiful materials… ! All you need to relax body and soul. A special mention for the sauna and its view on the city and the forest. Delightful ! I was now ready, and I have to admit, very excited, to experience a delicate night in this exquisite hotel.
The Manager awaited for me at the Bar of the hotel. It is a cosy Art nouveau room, designed by Paul Pouivet. The massive iron bar console and a huge Toulouse Lautrec lithography gives it all its cachet. I was suggested to try a very delicate glass of Crémant from the Moselle region, and it was pure delight.
As diner time was approaching i could feel it was going to be an experience for all my senses. I headed down to the sumptuous multi-award-winning Belle Epoque restaurant. The waitress accompanied me to my table, in the right corner, so i could enjoy the whole atmosphere. I chose to go for the surprise menu in 3 courses. I love suprises. The sommelier had me taste some of the best wines as well. undeniably, in this particular moment, FOOD is ART ! all along diner, whether it was the starter, a sumptuous cabillaud fish, the main course, “never experienced” tender veal, or the dessert, I could sense passion. And Passion is important in one’s life. It helps you transcend yourself and make you do amazing things.
My stay at Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue felt like a dream ! And I can only highly recommend you to try the experience. Sometimes, you don’t need to go that far away to live true and honest joy. It is right there !
Thank you Matthias Ganter and his team ❤
